Her forthcoming album, Before the Hour’s Up (out August 29, 2025), explores the many manifestations of longing—longing for connection, for change, for understanding. The record is named after its closing track, which reflects the desire for all of life’s issues to be solved in the span of a single therapy session, only to face the truth that emotions and questions rarely resolve so easily. The album carries threads of melancholy, resilience, and clarity, touching on identity, relationships, and the subtle ache of time passing. Collaborating with artists like Sam Lynch and Cassie Dasilva, Burwell found new creative depths through a woman-to-woman songwriting process, resulting in tracks that are both cathartic and deeply resonant.
